"I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.
If you really knew Me,
you would know My Father as well.
From now on, you know Him and have seen Him."

A Study Through Hebrews Part I

In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His son Whom
He appointed heir of all things, and through Whom He made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His Being,
sustaining all things by His powerful Word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
Hebrews 1:1-3

A study of the letter to the Hebrews leads us to understanding and we are able to receive such wisdom and knowledge from and about God in these pages. We
are able to see the Son as the radiance of God’s glory, being brought into understanding the love of the Father. God’s Word is sustained throughout this
letter, bringing us to know how important it is to read and study and learn from all of His Word. We cannot merely hear the Word, but we must fill our lives with it,
letting it fill our hearts, our souls and our minds, until the Word becomes written on our hearts. Jesus said in Luke 12:32-34:
“Do not be afraid, little flock, for
your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a
treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Our
treasure in this life and in the next is God. But just how to we begin to put faith in God above all things that are in our lives? How do we see the radiance of God’
s glory among all the terror and suffering that is in this world? How do we see God when we cannot get along as families, friends, as children of God?

Jesus provided for us in His Blood, our release from our sins that cover us and conceals us from Satan if only we allow Jesus to cover us. We are talking about
faith here. Faith in God, in Jesus, in the cross of Jesus, which we are to glory in, His death, His resurrection, and His coming glory, but we cannot know what
these are unless we surrender our lives, and become immersed in faith. Faith is so hard for so many people. Faith means we give up our self and take on God
as our basis for all that we do in life. God doesn’t want a lukewarm faith, but an alive, living, breathing, a going all the way faith from each of us. He wants us to
take the Scriptures to heart, and live out His way in our lives.

God still speaks to us today. His prophets still bring wisdom into our lives, but we are so caught up in what is going on around us that we miss what God is
saying. In the prophets of old we hear through them, things that are happening right now in our lives, but because we don’t study and live the Word, we are
fearful and scared of the things that are going on, that must happen in order for God’s Word to be fulfilled. This world will end and Jesus is coming, we just don’
t know the time or the date.
“Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of Your kingdom. You have loved
righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, Your God has set You above Your companions by anointing You with the oil of joy” (Hebrews 1:8-9,
Psalm 45:6-7).
No matter what is happening around you and around the world, God is still on His throne and His kingdom will last forever, but not this earth as it
is now. We are going through the pains of rebirth, of God cleansing the wickedness of this world in order that His righteousness will be upon our hearts, our
souls, our minds and that we will do His will with all our strength. The Father set Jesus above the angels, above man, above all things so that we can also share
in the kingdom of God. We have to allow ourselves to believe. We have to allow ourselves to believe no matter what the world is telling us or what is going on.
We have to believe that Jesus is our Savior and we have to live out in our lives the way of our Lord and Savior.

But far to often we allow Satan to bring death to the life that is in faith in God. We allow the devil’s lies to confuse us because we do not know the Word and it is
not written on our hearts. We seem not to realize that Satan knows the Word of God and so he uses it to confuse us and bring us harm, to kill faith and trust in
the Lord. We have to pay attention to God and to His Word and not to let the devil rob us of what the Lord has given us in His cross. The message comes to us
through the prophets and through the angels. Jesus’ birth, His suffering, His death and His return has been foretold from days of old. The angels came to the
shepherds who were living out in the fields and brought the news of our Salvation saying:
“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all
people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you. He is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:10-11).
We have become lazy, accepting the lies of the devil
as good things, instead of the glory that could be ours if only we would accept the gift of God, the gift of Jesus and His cross, and living a life that follows the
way of the Lord. Why is total faith so hard? Why do we doubt when things don’t go the way we want them to go? Why do we doubt when we wonder why God
has allowed pain and suffering and trials in our lives? Why are we afraid to admit that we do not know why God allows these things that bring us to
hopelessness? Job was brought to repentance, not because he didn’t have faith, but because he questioned why God was allowing destruction his life. Can
you give thanks to God for the trials and the sufferings in your life? Will you admit that God has the right to disciple you when you do wrong according to His
Word?

We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. For if the message spoken by angels was binding and
every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation (Hebrews 2:1-3).
But most are not paying
attention. We know so many people who have fallen away from what they used to believe, all because they did not keep their faith alive in the way in which they
lived their lives and were not living a life in keeping with God’s Word because they do not know God’s Word. God loves you and wants you to follow Him in your
life. When I read the Scriptures, especially God’s pleads to His creations to change from their lives of sin and into a life of God’s way, His truth and living a life
that reflects Who and What God is, and then look around me, I am saddened that so many people think so little of God. His love is so amazing and it brings
such peace and love into life. But most people don’t allow God to bring that into their lives. They don’t invest in God, but are more worried about investing in
money and things, thinking that their lives would be so much better with more and more. We have far too much stuff and not just stuff that we buy and surround
ourselves with, but we carry far too much stuff in our hearts and our minds. We ignore the miracles, signs and wonders that are all around us, and ignore the
gifts that the Holy Spirit has gifted us with. We want God to do it all for us, and we don’t want to take responsibility for accepting our own Salvation and we don’t
love one another as God loves us and thus we rob others of their Salvation because we don’t live in faith.

Faith is something that we can’t see, we can’t touch and in no way can prove. God calls us to faith in spite of this. Jesus said to Thomas:
“Because you have
seen Me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed” (John 20:29).
We are living in a time when Jesus is not here on this
earth in human form, but we are living in a time when we are called into faith in spite of not seeing, or touching or being able to prove. We are God’s children.
Since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity so that by His death He might destroy him who holds the power of death—that is, the
devil—and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death (Hebrews 2:14-15).
When we allow Satan control over our lives by listening to
his lies and live a life that is so against God’s way, we allow ourselves to be robbed of our Salvation. God’s voice speaks truth, telling us not to fear death,
because His Salvation brings us life. This body that we are living in, is nothing. Jesus came down from heaven to this earth and became a human, taking on all
that we are. He was hot, cold, hungry enough to pick grain and eat it, His hometown didn’t believe in Him, He was spat upon, whipped, and killed because He
did the Father’s will in His life. And He requires no less from us. That may sound harsh and hard, but it’s not because by following God’s way, we are freed from
sin, from the devil having control over our lives. We have to live for what our lives will become when we are resurrected in God’s kingdom and righteousness.

Jesus shared the news of Salvation with all He met. He spoke of the things that God requires of our lives, and believe it or not, what God requires is not bad or
hard. We just have to choose! Yes, Jesus was hungry, had no home, was whipped, and killed, but He did that so you will not have to die for your sins. But Jesus
lived a life that includes so much more. He healed! He healed those who were blind, deaf, mute, bleeding, with sores and He sent the evil spirits packing and He
brought back to life those who were dead to teach us that there is so much more than what we see now! He was teaching us that when we accept His gift of His
life for our Salvation, when we follow His way, that when the time comes for our death from this life and our resurrection in the new life, that we will not be
burdened with blindness, deafness, the inability to speak, there will be no cancer, no bi-polar, no depression, no more suffering in our lives! When Jesus
returns and brings us into the new heaven and the new earth, we will have a resurrected body, not this one with all its flaws.

For this reason He had to be made like His brothers in every way, in order that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that
He might make atonement for the sins of the people (Hebrews 2:17).
He became like us in order that we can become like Him. Jesus suffered and was tempted
in every way that we are, but because He knew that if we trusted, had faith in following God, believing that God is merciful and faithful, that even in death, we
would have life. Faith is believing in God’s promises even when what you see says to you that there is no proof that we will rise after we die. Faith is belief in
God’s Word even when those around you try to prove God wrong. Faith is giving up self and allowing God’s will in life and living a life that proves that we
believe.
Because He Himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted (Hebrews 2:18). Jesus lived life enduring all the
things we are going through, but knew that the Father is faithful in His promises. Because of this, God is able to help us through all the things that are going on
in our lives. He knows the lies of the devil into tempting your through things, through money, through lust, through using God’s Word to confuse, through
power. Jesus showed us that we can resist the devil if we choose.

So, have faith in God and in His promises. This is a new beginning, a new life that we have in the Lord. Take the steps to be in step with God. Don’t be afraid of
the things that are happening in your life. We don’t need stuff, we need God and we need to follow the way of the Lord in our lives. Fully abandoning our selves
and allowing God to mold us into His will. God says:
“For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and
a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
We have to let go of the things that Satan has and have faith in God no matter what is happening in our lives. In bringing many sons
to glory, it was fitting that God, for Whom and through Whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering (Hebrews 2:
10).
Jesus was made perfect in His sufferings and we are made perfect through ours. We need to declare that God is our God to all we meet and sing His
praises and to put our trust in Him. Only through trust and faith and only through our death to all things that separate us from God will we be made perfect.
Give thanks to the Lord in all circumstances, and be thankful that He considers you worthy to receive discipline, because He is your Father. Chose to be joyful
in all things and keep on persevering and watch God fulfill His promises in your life.
