"I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you really knew Me, you would know My Father as well. From now on, you know Him and have seen Him." John 14: 6-7 |

Let Us Fix Our Eyes On Jesus Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, Who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him Who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:2-3 In whom do you have faith? Simple question, really. Do you believe that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior? How were you raised? Were you raised in a church that taught that it is only through Jesus Christ that you are saved or did they preach a different gospel? In John 14:6 Jesus said, “I AM the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” No other faith, religion, no other belief gets us into God’s home, Heaven but through Christ. Do you believe that the Bible is the Word of God, or is it some book that you have read once and had no faith to believe, or have you even read the Bible if you say you are a Christian? If you accept Jesus, if you don’t read His Word, how can you have His law written on your heart? Today we are going to focus on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. It is only in Jesus, His death on the cross, and His resurrection that we are forgiven of our sins. I am here to preach only that, because I have faith in God and in that faith, God said in His Word, that in order to be saved, I must believe that only in Jesus the Christ, in His cross, and His resurrection, I am saved and forgiven of my sins. There is nothing that I can do to assure me of my salvation, nothing I can do to earn my salvation, nothing I can do to go home to heaven, except by Jesus. God saved me from eternal hell and damnation before I was ever born. No church, no set of rules, no acts of charity, and no amount of prayer, nothing except the cross of Jesus gets me saved. In a few weeks, Henry and I will be leaving our home, our family and going on the road to preach. God has led us to do this. We prayed and fasted, asking God for His direction, His will for our lives. We asked God to use us to best bring His truth, and He told us to leave all that we have and to preach the Gospel of truth. We are in the process of repairing an old tent trailer that was given to us a few years back. We are taking a few clothes, some dishes and cups, some food, Bibles, books, and a few other things, and we are going wherever the Lord leads us. We bought a map book the other day, and we will keep track of where we go on it. We will have the computer and Internet and we are putting up a page on the website called The Journey where we will put pictures and a journal (blog) of the people and places and the things that we encounter. Henry has been out of work for over a year and the Lord has been preparing us for our journey this past year. He has been faithful in answering our prayers in His time and has now said it is time to leave. Henry looked for a job but there was none to be found, he applied for disability do to his many health issues but that has not happen. We have no money, as Henry’s job supported the ministry, and we have had a few who have faithfully shared what they could over this past year. We have been a small home church and our income as it were came from weddings and such that I officiated at. We are still trying to catch up on the mortgage before we leave as our daughter and son in law along with their children are going to take over on the house. Our utilities need to be caught up and we owe a few bills that came from Henry’s hospital bills from his strokes, but we are trusting in the Lord that He will provide what we need to do His will. We will not be homeless, as our home is in heaven and we are looking to a better place than this world. God has promised that He will provide what we need, by sending people to the website to plant a seed in the ministry monthly and by those we will meet along the way. We have been called to go out in faith, in this sad time in which we live. We will come up against those who don’t know God’s truth and are trusting in something that cannot save them. We need preachers to preach God’s truth in its entirety. We need to know that we will be punished for the things that we have allowed the devil to bring into our lives. The greed, the sexual immorality, the coveting of things, adultery, the denying of God into our everyday lives in the world that we live in. We have taken prayer out of school, have taken God out of life and have allowed the devil to control. But God is still on the throne. And His will for all life will happen and that means that some of us will be disciplined and receive the punishment that is due us from our falling away. We cannot preach anything but the truth of God and that only through Jesus the Christ we are saved. We have allowed political correctness to say that as Christians we cannot preach Jesus. As Christians then we have failed by not standing up with the truth of God. God is still on the throne and He will bring His wrath onto this earth and this country for our failure to listen. It is not that God is vindictive or mean. It is quite the opposite. Jesus came to this earth over 2000 years ago. He died for our sins, and for a while, the cross and death of Jesus had meaning, those taking on a faith in something that was foolishness for others. Listen to what the prophet Isaiah said: Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and familiar with suffering. Like one for whom men hide their faces He was despised and we esteemed Him not (Isaiah 53:1-3). And in this day, we esteem Him not. We ignore the cross of Jesus, His death and resurrection, all for the sake of unity. Let’s all be one happy, happy world, accepting each other’s religions, beliefs, or non-beliefs, but let’s all just get along. But guess what? We have ignored Jesus own words. We have chosen to allow the devil to dictate what we are to believe all for the sake of universal peace. In John (3:16) Jesus said: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” Jesus came to this earth to teach us God’s truth, because we ignored His truth that was preached by Moses and the prophets. Honestly, how much more does God need to do to prove His love? In Hebrews (9:15) we read: For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that He has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant. Don’t you think it’s about time we thank the Lord for willingly laying down His life for ours? John the Baptist said: “The One Who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The One Who comes from heaven is above all. He testifies to what He has seen and heard, but no one accepts His testimony” (John 3:31-32). Why is it that we have become complacent and forgotten the words that Jesus spoke? Why have we decided to accept what the devil speaks as truth? When Jesus was being tempted by the devil in the desert, the devil gave Jesus a choice. The devil led Him up to a high place and showed Him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to Him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. So if you worship me, it will all be yours. Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.’ (Luke 3:5-8) John the Baptist was truly right in saying that no one accepts Jesus’ testimony but instead listens to the one from the earth. Since the time of Jesus, we have been given a new covenant of forgiveness, a covenant to change our lives, to begin again as little children and learn from Jesus what are lives are to be. But we have trampled upon the cross for the sake of universal peace. There is only one peace and that peace comes through Jesus. Jesus said: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27). Do you have the peace of Christ in your life? Or are you confounded by the events of the world, worried about the future of yourself and this country and of the world? If you have the peace of Christ, nothing that is happening will frighten you. In Christ we have perfect peace, because Jesus is the new covenant because the old one was ignored. But we are ignoring the new covenant of Christ. We are again allowing the devil’s lies to rob us of the grace that Jesus freely gave to us on the cross. Why do we as humans keep on doing this? I want you to freely accept the cross of Jesus, to repent of your sins and to live a life according to the way of our Lord. He is your God even if you choose not to accept Him into your life. He is your God even if you don’t believe in Him. He is your God even if you don’t follow His way. You cannot go on lying to your self and say that there is no God or that we all worship the same God, or that my religion is the universal religion, or that my religion is the right religion, or that it doesn’t matter what we believe in as long as we believe in something or that we believe that there is some intelligent life that created us. No, don’t believe that lie. I too at one time thought that if only we could all believe that there was a supreme being even if we didn’t believe in the cross of Jesus, that it was a start. But the Lord has said “NO”, “I AM the Lord your God, you shall have no other gods before Me” (Exodus 20:2-3). And why do we continually use the Name of the Lord our God in vain. God’s Name is not a swear word. It is not a cute little OMG! to text or say. It is the Name of the Lord our God and deserves to be respected. God says: “You shall not misuse the Name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His Name” (Exodus 20:7) We must stop this pandering to the devil and start realizing that the signs are obvious, we must start preparing for the new heaven and the new earth, or else we will end up in eternal damnation, and I don’t want you to go to hell. We have deliberately kept on sinning against God even though we have been told the truth. Listen to these words from Hebrews (10:26-31): If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him Who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge His people.” IT is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” We have fallen under the judgment of our God. Everything in the world shows us. Fires, sexual immorality, greed, strife, hunger, anger, brother hating brother, sister hating sister, financial institutions failing, government ruining the future for our children and grandchildren. We have all fallen short in one way or another. We have to stop doing all the things that the devil has tricked us into. We have to go back to the basics: ‘Love the Lord your God with all of your heart and with all of your soul and with all of your mind and with all of your strength,’…and ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’ (Mark 12:30-31). Jesus affirmed the commandments here. And that is what each and every one of us must do if we want to accept God’s Salvation. We have to affirm that God is first in our lives above all things and that we love each other as we love ourselves. We can’t love each other before God. That’s what a lot of people are doing: putting God aside. WE have to LOVE GOD AND OBEY HIM FIRST before we love others as we love ourselves. Change came 2000 years ago on a cross. That is the only change that we need. We have only one Messiah and that is Jesus Christ our Lord. He is to Whom we must look to save us, because He already has on the cross. When are we, His creations going to realize that the gift has already been given and we are throwing it away? Jesus is our hope, our future and the only perfect thing. God is the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow. He has never stopped loving you and proves it with His life for yours. What are you doing to give Him thanks? May the God of peace, Who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing HIS will, and may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ, to Whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20-21 |
